The aim of the NMSHDA Scholarship program is to increase participation in Scottish dance by helping defraying costs for dance outfits, supplies, competition and associated travel costs.
To be considered for this scholarship the dancer must:
Have a minimum of one year of training in highland dance
Be a current member of the NMSHDA.
Be instructed by a Highland Dance instructor who is a current member one of the examining bodies recognized by the RSOBHD and a current member of the NMSHDA (teachers are encouraged to join at nmshda.org)
In co-teaching situations, only one teacher is required to be both an NMSHDA member and a current member of one of the RSOBHD recognized examining bodies.
Complete and submit this application before the deadline of June 1, 2025 (Anywhere on Earth).
Specify your current teacher to provide a recommendation. No application will be considered without an instructor recommendation. The teacher will be contacted separately. The teacher's letter should address the length of time you have studied, your skill level and commitment to dance, and progress made this year.
We are planning to announce scholarship results by June 15, 2025.
